KOSGEB digital transformation grants 2026: the complete application guide for finance software

iFinances EditorialMay 09, 202612 min

KOSGEB's 2026 digital transformation programs: 30-60% grant funding for reconciliation software and e-invoice systems. The application process, required documents, and practical tips.

KOSGEB (Turkey's Small and Medium Enterprises Development Organization) plans to provide Turkish SMEs with 6.8 billion TL in digital transformation funding in 2026. Reconciliation software, e-invoice systems, and financial automation tools are all within scope.

But to actually capture that funding, three things are critical: choosing the right program, complete documentation, and a well-timed application. This post is a practical application guide to KOSGEB's digital transformation support programs.

The KOSGEB 2026 program map

KOSGEB runs 5 main digital-transformation-focused programs in 2026:

1. KOBİGEL — SME Development Support Program

Scope: Machinery, equipment, and software purchases aimed at improving SME productivity.

Funding:

  • Non-repayable grant: up to 60%
  • Cap: 1,000,000 TL
  • Duration: 36 months

Eligibility: Businesses registered in Türkiye with SME status.

Official information.

2. R&D and Innovation Support Program

Funding:

  • Non-repayable: up to 75%
  • Cap: 1,500,000 TL

3. General Support Program

Scope: General operating expenses, training, consulting.

  • Non-repayable: 50%
  • Software/technology spending qualifies
  • Cap: 200,000 TL/year

4. Entrepreneurship Support Program

Scope: Founding costs plus first-year expenses for newly established businesses.

Funding:

  • Non-repayable: 75%
  • Cap: 500,000 TL
  • Duration: 24 months

5. **New for 2026:** Dedicated Digital Transformation Program

Scope: Reconciliation, e-invoice, ERP, CRM, and analytics software.

Which program is right for you?

| Your situation | Recommended program | |---|---| | Newly founded SME + need for finance software | Entrepreneurship + General Support | | Established SME + reconciliation software | Dedicated Digital Transformation or KOBİGEL | | Developing new software (R&D) | R&D + Innovation | | Training and consulting only | General Support | | Quick, small investment | General Support (low cap, but fast) |

The application process: 7 steps

Step 1: KOSGEB registration (Week 1)

Register online at kosgeb.gov.tr. You will need your tax number and a qualified e-signature.

Step 2: SME Declaration — KOBİ Bilgi Beyannamesi (Week 1)

Company details, revenue, headcount, and ownership structure. All information must be up to date.

Step 3: Program selection and pre-application (Week 2)

Be clear about which program you are applying to — use the matrix above.

Step 4: Project preparation (Weeks 2-4)

Your project proposal should include:

  • Needs analysis
  • Goals and deliverables
  • Budget (itemized, line by line)
  • Work plan
  • Expected ROI
  • Technical documentation

Sample work plan (for reconciliation software):

  • Month 1: Vendor selection + contract
  • Months 2-3: Setup + integration
  • Months 4-6: Pilot
  • Months 7-12: Full rollout
  • Months 13-18: Optimization

Step 5: Formal application (Week 5)

Apply through the KOSGEB online portal. Documents:

  • Project proposal
  • Vendor proforma invoice
  • Ownership structure document
  • Tax certificate (vergi levhası)
  • SGK (Turkish social security) clearance certificate
  • Financial statements (last 3 years)

Step 6: Evaluation (4-8 weeks)

A KOSGEB committee evaluates the project. Questions may come back; respond quickly.

Step 7: Contract + implementation (12-18 months)

After approval, you sign the contract. You then document every expense and claim the corresponding payments.

KOSGEB pays retroactively — you spend first and prove it, then the grant follows. Plan your cash flow in advance.

The optimal application for reconciliation software

For reconciliation software like iFinances, the recommended programs are KOBİGEL or the Dedicated Digital Transformation Program.

What to emphasize in your project proposal:

  • ✅ Productivity gains (manual hours saved)
  • ✅ Improved audit readiness
  • ✅ Stronger tax compliance
  • ✅ Better customer/supplier coordination
  • ✅ ROI metrics (concrete numbers)

Sample budget (mid-sized SME — 50M TL annual revenue): | Item | Amount (TL) | |---|---| | iFinances Professional plan (12 months) | 180,000 | | Setup + integration consulting | 60,000 | | Training (3 people × 5 days) | 40,000 | | Hardware (server/laptop refresh) | 80,000 | | TOTAL | 360,000 | | KOBİGEL 60% grant | 216,000 | | Net company cost | 144,000 |

The 7 most common mistakes

Mistake 1: Applying late

There are 4 application windows a year. Miss one and you wait 3 months.

Mistake 2: Incomplete documentation

Companies with outstanding SGK or tax debt cannot apply. Clear those first.

Mistake 3: Vague ROI

"Productivity will improve" is not enough. Set numeric targets like "85% reduction, 56 hours saved per month".

Mistake 4: Rushing vendor selection

Evaluate 2-3 alternatives before signing a contract — iFinances included. Details: how to choose reconciliation software.

Mistake 5: Full migration without a pilot

Moving the entire department onto a digital system overnight is risky. Details: the 7-stage SME digital transformation roadmap.

Mistake 6: Skipping training

The "software is installed, let them figure it out" approach kills the project.

Mistake 7: Spending without paperwork

KOSGEB requires proof of every expense with an invoice plus payment record. Stay disciplined throughout the process.

Other funding sources

KOSGEB is not the only option:

  • TÜBİTAK 1507 — for R&D-driven software. Details: TÜBİTAK 1507 SME R&D incentives.
  • Ministry of Industry and Technology — private-sector R&D incentives
  • Presidential Investment Office — investment incentive certificates
  • Regional development agencies — region-specific grants

Coordinating with your accountant

A KOSGEB application is far easier with support from your accountant. Details: client portfolio management for accounting firms.

Your accountant will:

  • ✅ Prepare your financial statements
  • ✅ Confirm your SME status
  • ✅ Review the project budget
  • ✅ Organize the expense documentation

Bottom line

KOSGEB is putting 6.8 billion TL into SME digital transformation in 2026. With the right program choice, a complete application, and accountant support, up to 60% of your reconciliation software cost can come back as a grant.
