E-invoice reconciliation compares the e-invoices (e-Fatura) routed through the Turkish tax authority (GIB) with your ledger entries. Accounting managers and CPAs see an unposted invoice before the period closes.

Your supplier issued invoice FT-2026-0412 for TRY 48,250.00 on June 18, 2026. It arrived in your inbox through the tax authority. In the ledger there is no entry, or one posted as TRY 48,520.00. You should see that gap the week the invoice arrives, not at month end.

WHY IT IS HARD

Why do the invoice and the ledger disagree?

Around one billion e-invoices were issued in Türkiye in 2024. Documents are sent, received and archived. Whether each document says the same thing as the ledger is still checked by hand in most companies. The gap opens in four places.

Inbound invoice never posted

FT-2026-0412 sits in the inbox with no entry in account 320 (trade payables). Once the period closes, TRY 48,250.00 of expense and its VAT deduction are missing. iFinances lists this invoice under 'document exists, no entry'.

Amount or date differs

An entry exists, but the ledger shows TRY 48,520.00 and the document TRY 48,250.00. Two digits were swapped. The difference is TRY 270.00 on its own, and material across hundreds of invoices.

Same invoice posted twice

The same document was posted once as an e-archive invoice and once as an e-invoice. Or two people processed the same PDF. The supplier balance shows TRY 48,250.00 too much.

Canceled invoice still open

The supplier canceled FT-2026-0412, or you rejected it. The ledger entry is still open. This item will never match the counterparty's statement.

HOW IT WORKS

Upload the list, let invoices match the ledger

There are four steps. Each one says what you do and what iFinances does. The e-invoice list, the ledger and the bank statement work in the same table.

  1. 1

    Upload the document list

You upload the inbound and outbound invoice list as a file from your integrator or the tax portal. A direct connection can also be selected during setup. iFinances reads each row as invoice number, tax ID (VKN), date and amount.

    Inbound list · 312 documents · June
  2. 2

    Match against the ledger

You upload the sub-ledger for accounts 120 (trade receivables) and 320 (trade payables). iFinances matches each document to a ledger entry on invoice number, tax ID, amount and date. Legal-name differences are tolerated by folding Turkish characters. For example, 'Ç' and 'C' count as the same letter.

  3. 3

    List the gaps

You open the list and read the reason next to each row. iFinances produces three separate lists. Document without an entry, entry without a document, and amount mismatch. Every row carries a written reason.

  4. 4

Verify with the bank, then approve

You upload the bank statement and approve the suggestions. When the invoice and the ledger disagree, iFinances checks the bank line. If TRY 48,250.00 left the account on June 18, 2026, the ledger is short. iFinances never closes a line on its own, you have the final say.

THE DIFFERENCE

What is the difference between an integrator and iFinances?

An integrator moves and stores the document. It does that job well. It does not check whether the document and the ledger entry agree. That is where iFinances starts.

Integrator / portal
  • Sends, receives and archives the document
  • Shows the invoice status
  • Lists the invoices in the inbox
  • One source: the e-document
iFinances reconciliation layer
  • Compares the document to the ledger entry
  • Shows where status and ledger entry contradict
  • Names the invoice that never reached the ledger
  • Three sources: e-document, ledger, bank
WHAT YOU GAIN

Ba-Bs is gone, the cross-check is now yours

Form Ba-Bs was a quarterly return that cross-checked purchases and sales against the counterparty. General Communiqué No. 565 on the Tax Procedure Law (VUK) abolished it from the September 2024 period. The state now sees both sides through e-documents. You still see only your own side.

01

An unposted inbound invoice appears on the list before the period closes. TRY 48,250.00 of expense and VAT deduction are not lost.

02

Every difference comes with a written reason. Example: 'FT-2026-0412 is TRY 48,250.00 on the document and TRY 48,520.00 in the ledger.'

03

A monthly control replaces the mandatory quarterly comparison. At month-end close, the list of differences is already prepared.

Try it on one month of invoices

Bring one month of inbound invoices and your account 320 sub-ledger. In half an hour you will see how many invoices never reached the ledger.

Frequently asked questions

More than before. Ba-Bs was a form the state used to cross-check your declaration against your counterparty's. When the form was abolished, that check stayed on the state side. The control on your own side is now yours to build.

No. iFinances does not replace your integrator. It reads the invoice list from the integrator or the tax portal and compares it with your ledger. Your current setup stays as it is.

Yes. For the ledger side, iFinances reads sub-ledger (account movement) and trial-balance data. Statutory steps such as filing the e-ledger certificate with the tax authority stay in your existing solution. iFinances does not keep books or create entries.

The invoice list and the ledger entries are matched on invoice number, tax ID, amount and date. A document with no counterpart lands on the 'document exists, no entry' list with a written reason. Example reason: no entry found in account 320 for FT-2026-0412.

Documents with a rejected or canceled status are labeled separately. If the same invoice is still open in the ledger, it is flagged as a mismatch. The closing suggestion comes with a reason, and you give the approval.
